Frazier Haney

A true local hopeful, Frazier started climbing while in High School at Yucca Valley High School. A strong, focused ,and confident climber, Frazier started out scared and conservative like the rest of us. Soon , he was working his way up the ranks, and after 4 or 5 years, he was able to on-site routes like Coarse and Buggy. Going to college up at U.C. Santa Cruz took him to other climbing areas, like Pinnicles, and The Valley. Back at home, in Joshua Tree and Red Rocks, he has already pioneered alot of excellent first ascents; always on the lead, and always with the hand drill. Now graduated from college, Frazier has big plans and lots of climbing trips planned. He recently descovered the adventures and thrills of Southwest Sandstone towers, and now wants more of that bad craziness as well. Frazier is strong, motivated, and on the up and up, and will, no doubt, become part of Joshua Tree's climbing history. You best be fit and psyched if you are going climbing with Fazier; or he'll run you ragged. I've seen some of his partners beg for mercy, when Frazier says,"C'mon; we got time for one or two more climbs." The old guard of Joshua Tree climbers will pass the torch to Frazier and his generation of talanted, skilled, and motivated climbers. The future is in good hands. To quote local Dave Mayville, " That Frazier, I've seen him climb. He's got it. That kid can climb."
